History

Our Country Lodge complex is also a renovation of an original homestead situated on a small holding plot that now forms part of the larger Nimeng ranch.  Originally, this homestead was a construction of three independent thatch-roof rondavels that were, at a later stage, inter-connected with in-between "walk-through" rooms.

We were able to convert this old "rondavel-like" building structure, with its limitations, into three very attractive and comfortable Self Catering Chalets (SCCs).

We also converted the remains of another close by building into a laundry complex with two separate outdoor bedrooms. In addition, we also build a loose standing bathroom complex for the occupants of the outdoor bedrooms.

Interior Decoration

Each of the three SCCs and the two outdoor bedrooms has the name of an indigenous animal species that is stocked on the ranch. The interior decoration of each SCC and outdoor bedroom represents the natural colours of the selected animal.

Facilities of each SCC

Two of the SCCs named "Leopard" and "Giraffe", have one double-bed bedroom with an en-suite bathroom, and a kitchenette/dining room-lounge combo.

The third SCC, named "Zebra", has one double-bed bedroom with en-suite bathroom and a spare bedroom with two single beds. This unit also has a kitchenette and a separate lounge/dining room combo.

All the SCC bedrooms and kitchenettes are fully equipped with linen, crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils.  The SCCs are air-conditioned and have their own outdoor "braai" facility.

The two “stand-alone” bedrooms named "Rooibok" and Rooikat" are furnished with two single beds. These bedrooms are ideal for occupying the teenage children or older children in a family. Occupants of these bedrooms have access to "next door" shower and bathrooms.

Communal Lapa and Boma

Other facilities of this Country Lodge complex include a communal lapa with kitchen and dining table facilities. Attached hereto, is a large boma for unforgettable communal camp fire "braais".

Communal Lounge/TV Room

The Country Lodge complex also has a communal lounge/TV room with a flat-screen TV set and "pop-up" bar where visitors can watch their favourite sport, news, or movie.
